In this two-day engaging, experiential and interactive professional development session, Teachers, Educators, School Leaders, Administrators and Central Office staff will gain practical skills and knowledge on the following learning objectives to serve each and every child who comes into their care:
Participants will learn how to develop and implement equity teams in school buildings to improve student achievement, school climate and social justice.
Participants will gain knowledge on culturally responsive transformational leadership, pedagogy and trauma informed practices.
Participants will evaluate readiness of the school/central office for implementation of social justice and ethnic studies curriculum to increase academic achievement and advance educational equity.
Participants will interact and learn from each to crosspollinate their funds of knowledge and share strategies to enhance their learning experience to better serve their students.
Facilitators: Dr. Kimberly Armstrong and Bernardo Ruiz
Dr. Armstrong and Bernardo Ruiz have more than 30 years combined experience serving at different leadership capacities and roles within the public education system in the United States. They will share a framework for organizational change that they have successfully implemented in several school districts and organizations to advance educational excellence and equity.
Dr. Armstrong and Bernardo Ruiz would like to invite you to be part of a national movement to ensure educational excellence and equity for each and every student in our public schools. We will share ideas to successfully address educational equity, inclusion and social justice in our classrooms, school campuses and central offices. Our goal is for participants to come away with practical tools and strategies for advancing this important work as well as supportive professional partnerships they can learn from and lean on for many years to come.
