Miramar College Student Education Planning Sessions (SEP)

Student Educational Planning Sessions for New Students!  These Student Educational Planning (SEP) sessions are specifically tailored for NEW STUDENTS in mind who have never attend any other college/university. The SEP session will outline what courses are required for general education including for Associated degree &/or for Transfer to a CSU or UC institution. Counselors will assist students in creating an abbreviated (one to two semester) educational plan for the 1st school year based on the students desired educational course path. In addition, students will learn how to navigate the course catalog, class schedule, how to register for classes, tips for studying and will receive important timelines for the upcoming school year. Prior to SEP session, students must 1. Have already applied for the school & have recieved their ten digit student number #                        (application is through , student numbers will be sent via email from SDCCD atleast 24-48 hours after application has been submitted) 2. Have already have completed the Online Orientation for Miramar College (Online Orientation avaliable at , must print out or screenshot completion of confirmation) 3. Have completed placement assistant through cccapply (if applied to the school after 04/29/2019, this should be done automatically) or if you applied to the school prior to 04/29/2019, you can complete the placement assistant at, (print or screenshot scores) ***Alternative scores ( AP, IB, Honors) can be used but must be sent in officially to the school atleast 4-6 weeks in advance prior to registering for classes for processing. You may bring an unofficial copy for refrence only for the SEP session. The SEP session will take place in the Student Services building on the 2nd floor in room K1-202. See map for details  (Student Services/Bookstore/Cafeteria) Do I have to take an Assessment test? No, for students who have completed an admissions application on would have already gone through a placement assistant process during the initial application. However, students who previous applied prior to CCCapply, can complete the placement assistance tool that just takes less than 2 mintues ( )   What should I bring to the event? -Confirmation of completition of the Online Orientation (  -Pen or pencil Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event? No. Your name will be on an attendee list at the event. Where can I park? Anywhere in the student parking spaces on Miramar College. **Please note that Parking permits are required at all times. Daily permit machines are located at the Black Mountain Road entrance to the campus in Lot 2, and each floor of the parking structure. Permits are available for $1.00 per hour/$5 per day maximum.
