The Frisch Approach - Physical and Vocal Characterization Workshop

The Frisch Approach - Physical and Vocal Characterization What is the likelihood that a character looks, walks and talks exactly like you do?  Exactly. Slim to none. Physical and Vocal Characterization demonstrates how to truly complete the transformation to character – to create and inhabit a body and voice implied by the squiggles on a page known as a script.  And so it is imperative that actors experiment and learn how to take physical and vocal risks while integrating these choices into the emotional life of the character. Transformation is the goal, the natural result of an actor’s empathetic response to the needs and flaws of their character – not only transformation of emotional life, spiritual life, even thought processes but also inclusive of voice, speech, and physical life.  Physical and Vocal Characterization will reveal how to organically transform body, voice and speech so that they complement and conform perfectly to your interpretation and emotional choices. “Only the imaginative, risk-taking, transformational actor can inhabit new emotional, physical and vocal territory.  Therefore, the goal is to expand the self to encompass the character, not to contract the character to the limited self.” -Peter Frisch Please visit Peter' website for bio, testimonials and philosophy at -  Class Size: 12Workshop Length:  2 daysDates: Sep 14,15Time: Sat 9am - 5pm, Sun 9am - 1pmAges: 18 and upCost: New PLP Members $195/Returning PLP Members $175Location: Point Loma Playhouse 3035 Talbot St San Diego CA 92106
